Information about the Integrated Lifestyle and Wellness Support System
Cheshire East Council is currently carrying out a consultation on an Integrated Lifestyle and Wellness Support System.
Presently, lifestyle and wellness services are accessed using a variety of different routes. This is confusing both to members of the public and professionals who work with them to improve their health and wellbeing.
Our vision is to do things in a new way by introducing a ‘Integrated Wellness and Lifestyle Support System’. This will give local people more control over how they access services, and more choice over the services they access.
By doing this we will provide support to enable residents to live well for longer, by helping them to address the factors that affect their health and wellbeing earlier and/or through preventative behaviour change. Relevant services that could be delivered under this model include: physical activity, lifestyle coaching, alcohol harm reduction, tobacco control and stop smoking and healthy eating. Public Health are currently talking to a range of stakeholders about this proposal including GPs, CCGs, and the Voluntary Sector.
