HI All
Lots of people have been sending me the link the Airport Awareness so I thought I would share for all those going on their holidays abroad soon.
Manchester Airport have fab autism awareness support for people travelling who are on the spectrum. You get a wristband which allows a person with autism and their family/party to go through fast track security checks – took us 5 mins to get through security last year while others were taking hours (which would be a nightmare if you had autism)! The staff look out for wristbands and help you throughout the airport. You also get an airport awareness pack which explains the whole airport process to reduce travel anxieties.
Oh and it’s free hope this helps to make someone’s journey a lot easier x
You do need to contact the airport in advance – here is what the BBC say
