Job Title: Sports / Youth Worker

Salary: £20,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract type: Fixed term contract until September 11th 2015

The Rio Ferdinand Foundation is looking to recruit a summer Sports / Youth Worker to support the delivery of the Big Lottery Funded Reaching Communities Fund programme in Salford during the Summer 2015. Working with partners and young people to implement and help enhance delivery of our sports and arts based social inclusion programmes.

We are looking for a highly-motivated person who believes in the value that young people from diverse backgrounds can add to their communities to join our Rio Ferdinand Foundation delivery team.

You will play an important role in the implementation of the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund programme during the Summer 2015. The role will include meeting and exceeding key performance indicators set out in the project plan.

The successful applicant will have key responsibilities around project coordination and face to face delivery with young people under the direction of the Programme Coordinator. The projects work with young people, both male and female, aged 11 to 25 years of age, across the Salford and Manchester areas. We use sports, arts and media projects to assist the personal development, youth leadership abilities and employability of young people.

As the role involves handling sensitive information and working directly with young people the successful application will be required to pass an enhanced DBS check.
