What a fantastic meeting last night at our AGM, thank you to all those who turned up and made our last meeting of the year so great. There will be so much more happening next year including the introduction of our new parent/carer Toddler group which should be ready to open in January, Thank you to those parents who have volunteered their time to help make this happen – I will be contacting you soon…. Special thanks to Claire from Edge inclusion who came to talk to the group about how they can help with the new EHC Plans. They can help with filling in the documentation, attending meetings with you and fully supporting you through the transitions of the new EHC Plans. See details below.
We are also looking at holding a Christmas get together so if there are any parents out there who would like to help please get in touch.
Edge Inclusion Partners
Support parents during the transition of statement to EHC plans and in new assessments for EHC plans.
The Independent Support role has been developed to support and enable families with children who have special educational needs and/or disability to improve educational, health and social outcomes.
This project has been developed in response to the introduction of the new Children and Families Act March 2014. If you are considering requesting an EHC Plan for yourself or your child, or will be converting from a Statement of Educational Needs to an EHC Plan then an Independent Supporter can help. We provide free, impartial support to parents, carers and young people living in Stockport, Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester offering:
- Support with conversion of a Statement of SEN to an EHC plan
- Support during assessment and planning of a new EHC plan
- Information on The Local Offer and Personal Budgets
- Providing information and signposting
- Advocating on behalf of the child, young person and/or their family.
