This was sent in by one of our parents – hope you find it helpful

I thought this recent facebook post ( attached as a doc) might be interesting for everyone who attended the Information evening about the Children and Families Act. It’s about SEN statements applied for before September, by Maxwell Gillot the SEN Solicitors. They also say that if a child has provisions such as OT written in the statement, but is not receiving them ( as some parents said is the case in Cheshire East due to lack of OT’s), then they can take legal action against the LA.
Parents can also get legal aid for SEN rights representation for their child if their household income does not exceed a certain amount.
Hope this is useful.
