Over the past few months, Disability Stockport have been working with The Light Cinema in Stockport to arrange fixed, and regular, autism friendly film screenings.
The framework is as follows:
- When
- The first Monday of the month, every month, unless that coincides with a bank holiday
- If so, the screening will be on the second Monday of the month
- Time
- 7pm
- Location
- The Light Cinema, Stockport
- Tickets
- £9.75pp and usual accompanying carers discounts apply
- Tickets can be booked when the box office opens for that film, in the usual way
- Please refer to the light cinema website
- Tickets are available to the general public
- Films
- All the films will be the biggest releases at that time
- Film release schedules can change, but will be confirmed when the box office opens
- However, as things stand, the intention is to show the following films:
- Monday 3rd Oct – Avatar – Re-release of the James Cameron’s classic
- Monday 7th Nov – Black Adam – DC superhero/anti-hero movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
- Mon 5th Dec – Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Sequel To The Marvel Blockbuster
- Mon 9th Jan – Avatar: The Way of Water – Long awaited sequel to Avatar
- Mon 6th Feb – Film TBC and so on, to follow each month
- The Flyer
- Explains what an autism friendly screening is and the environment with the auditorium
- Lists the full ticket pricing
- Summary
- These autism friendly screenings are regular
- Always a Monday
- Always 7pm
- Usually the first Monday of the month, unless that day is a bank holiday and then, it’s the following week
- These screenings will always show the biggest, family orientated, films on release
Finally, these screenings wouldn’t be available without the help and support of the staff The Light Cinemas. Thank you for your help and assistance with this project.
Many thanks and kind regards,
