Hello Parent / Carer Forum Members,
Apologises for the delay in emailing you this information. The forum is meeting next Wednesday, 25th June. The topic is “What you need to know about the new Special Educational Needs and Disability Reforms.”
The Children and Families Act 2014 introduces many changes from September 2014, as for example
1. Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans from 0—25 years of age.
2. A “Local Offer” will have information about local and national services and how to access them.
3. Independent Supporters who will provide support to young people and parents through the introduction of the new assessment process and the development of Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans.
If you would like to find out about these and other changes and how they are being implemented locally, please do come along to our next meeting.
