Dear Colleague, please click here to access briefing paper Brief_Update_from_the_NW_Autism_Network_Stakeholder__Sept_27th[1]

Many thanks for attending the Autism Stakeholder Event in September. As promised, I have collated a short briefing paper of discussions from the day including key messages which you wanted us to feedback to the DH, general outputs from the self assessment tool that some of you managed to complete, and proposals for taking the 5 networks (aligned with PCT Clusters) based on the outputs from the feedback received post the event.

Terry, Julie and I had a very positive meeting with Michael Swafield (National Policy Lead for Autism) last week and he agreed to raise the pertinent issues with the National Partnership Board when it meets on November 9th.  He is very interested in undertaking some collaborative work with us in the North West and Terry is pursuing a proposal focused on transition issues.  In addition, Terry has agreed to follow up the proposal to establish 5 autism networks aligned with the PCT clusters and take a paper to the next ADASS meeting in the North West to seek strategic support and direction from the relevant ADASS Directors in each of the cluster areas.  Julie has agreed to brief the Transitional Alliance Board of this and also seek support from the relevant Executive Directors of the PCT Clusters.

We have also requested that the National Partnership Board minutes are shared and once these are available Julie will upload on to the Transitional Alliance website.

Once these discussions have been progressed, we will promise to keep you fully informed.  In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information or support.

Kind regards

Anna
