24th Macclesfield Beer Festival to support Space4Autism
• 2018 Macclesfield Beer Festival to take place on 11th & 12th May at Macclesfield Rugby Club
• Beer festival committee welcome 2018 main sponsors SAS Daniels and Big Brand Ideas

The Macclesfield Beer Festival committee has announced that funds raised at the 24th Macclesfield Beer Festival will be donated to Macclesfield-based charity Space4Autism, which provides support for families living with autism. The charity plans to use the funds to create a sensory room at its new Space centre in Macclesfield.

Cheryl Simpson, CEO, Space4Autism, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be the beneficiaries of proceeds raised at the 2018 Macclesfield Beer Festival. Many adults and children on the autistic spectrum have difficulty processing everyday sensory information, often experiencing hypersensitivity to sensory stimuli, which can have a profound effect on their life. A sensory room is something we vitally need and will provide a safe place away from the sights and sounds which bombard those with autism on a daily basis.”

Last year the Macclesfield Beer Festival raised £17,000 for the Seashell Trust, a charity for children, young people and adults with sensory impairment, profound learning and communication difficulties. The trust is using the funds to create a play area – including a summer house and wheelchair-accessible trampoline area – in the green at the heart of its new housing area. The festival also continues to raise funds for grass-roots rugby, supporting Macclesfield Rugby Club.

Micky Jones, of PR Jones Jewellers and Macclesfield Beer Festival committee member, said: “Each year we look forward to bringing together Macclesfield residents and people from across the region to enjoy some great music, a few pints of beer or cider, or a glass of wine or fizz, to raise a huge amount of money for a much-deserving local charity as well as our ongoing support of grass-roots rugby in Macclesfield”.

“This year, we’re thrilled to be supporting Space4Autism, and we’re also thankful for the support of our two main sponsors SAS Daniels and Big Brand Ideas, all of the individuals and businesses that sponsor barrels, as well as all of the volunteers and Macclesfield Round Table members who make this fantastic event possible.”

The Macclesfield Beer Festival, held at Macclesfield Rugby Club, will take place on the evenings of Friday 11th and Saturday 12th May, as well as Saturday day time, and will offer over 250 beers, wines, ciders and perrys, and a range of soft drinks. The festival will also offer a variety of food options.

Guests can enjoy live music throughout the entire weekend, with the Saturday day time session also featuring family entertainment, including a tombola, raffle and a variety of games.

Tickets for the evening sessions cost £10 each and can be purchased via the Macclesfield Beer Festival website www.MacclesfieldBeerFestival.org and select pubs in and around Macclesfield. Admission to Saturday’s family-friendly day time event is free of charge.

There are a number of sponsorship opportunities available – with barrel sponsorship starting at £150 – local businesses or individuals who would like to support the festival should contact Micky Jones via michael@prjonesjewellers.co.uk.
